Paleonthropologist Erik Trinkaus says that man started wearing shoes somewhere between 26,000 and 40,000 years ago, and that today's american woman on average owns 27 pairs of shoes.
Maecenas Dirk Vanderschueuren, owner of Cortina, one of the worlds biggest shoe manufacturers, shared his passion by creating the "shoes experience" (SONS) in Belgium.
SONS consists of many collections, like Salvatore Ferragammo, Christian Louboutin, and Milano Blahnik.
